Fleming Ranked 20th in September 21 Centennial Conference Men's Cross Country Coaches Top 20

LANCASTER, PA -- Franklin & Marshall College harrier Aldace Fleming (Jr., Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) is tied for 20th in the September 21 Centennial Conference Men's Cross Country Coaches Top 20 Rankings.

A member of the September 22 Centennial Conference Honor Roll, he crossed the finish line in 16:24.39 to place sixth over the 5,000 meter course and lead the Franklin & Marshall College men's cross country team to a second place finish at the Little Three Cross Country Championships at Baker Campus versus Gettysburg College and Dickinson College.

The finish was historic for Franklin & Marshall College as it marked the first time since 1997 the Diplomats finished second or better at the Little Three Championships snapping a six year third place streak (1998-2003). In the history of the race, the Diplomats have finished first or second in the annual race against the Bullets and Red Devils in 33 of the events 39 meets.

Individually, Fleming's time marked a school course record for the newly redesigned F&M course as he finished in front of teammate Charlie Bowen (Fr., Middletown, PA/Middletown) who placed 11th in 16:28.21.

Compiled by Swarthmore coach Pete Carroll, the rankings are a weekly predictor of placement at the Centennial Conference Championship set for October 30 at McDaniel College.

Franklin & Marshall will continue the season on September 25 at the Allegheny College Invitational.
