Franklin & Marshall Shows Well at Coach "I" Invite

LANCASTER, Pa, - The Franklin & Marshall track team hosted Millersville, West Chester, and York at the Coach "I" Invitational Friday evening. Three Diplomats picked up first place finishes in the non-team scoring meet.

Zach Barninger won the long jump with a mark of 19' 8.75". He also took second place in the long jump (19' 8.75") and third in the pole vault (13' 6"). Teammate Jon Brallier won the pole vault with a mark of 14' 9" for his best effort of the season.

Freddy Martino won the triple jump. His leap of 40' 9.25" ties teammate Kwaku Anno for the Conference's best leap of the indoor season.

Steve Tracy and Jake Gomolinski-Ekel took second and third, respectively, in the 55 meter dash. Tracy logged a 6.78, the top F&M mark of the season, while Gomolinski-Ekel clocked a 6.85. Kelvin Reyes of Millersville won the race in 6.61 seconds. Gomolinski-Ekel went on to take second in the 200 meter dash with a 23.20. That was .04 seconds behind Akil Stokes from Millersville, and the best time in the Centennial Conference this indoor season.

The Diplomats return to action next Saturday at Ursinus.
