Rams Top Owls 2-1 in 2nd OT

Sept. 9, 2005

Box Score

RICHMOND, VA -- Susanna Lehtinen was all the offense the Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team could muster once again on Friday night against the VCU Rams. The Owls fell by the score of 2-1 in the second overtime.

Jessica Badders got the start and played the first half. She made three stops and allowed one goal. Megan Coyne relieved her to start the second half, and played both overtime periods. She made two stops.

Lehtinen took eight of FAU's 15 attempted shots, as the Owls continue to lean heavily on their former Freshman of the Year.

VCU took the 1-0 on a goal by Megan Flanagan at the 15 minute mark. Lehtinen tied it in the 39th minute. Neither goal was assisted.

In the 104th minute, Pernilla Jansson fired a laser past Coyne for the 2-1 Ram win.

The loss drops the Owls to 2-3. They will play the Richmond Spiders Sunday at 11 a.m.
