Women's Basketball 2003-04 Schedule Announced

June 26, 2003

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University head women's basketball coach Chancellor Dugan has announced the team's 2003-04 schedule. The slate includes 20 Atlantic Sun Conference games as well as seven non-conference games.

The Lady Owls will begin their season November 21 with a home game against Georgia Tech. That will be the first of four home games to start the season as FAU will host a tournament November 28-29 featuring Manhattan, Middle Tennessee State, and Norfolk State.

FAU's road non-conference games include a tournament at Alabama-Birmingham, December 19-20, which will also include Birmingham-Southern and Belmont. FAU will also face Louisville and South Florida in road games at the end of December.

The number of A-Sun teams will drop from 12 to 11 for the 2003-04 season. Samford and Jacksonville State are no longer part of the conference while Lipscomb has been added. That means the divisional format used last year will no longer be utilized, and all teams will play each other home and away.

Dugan begins her fifth season as head coach of the Lady Owls. The team returns all but three players from last year's team that finished with the best A-Sun record in school history. In addition, Dugan secured five commitments to add to the team's 2003-04 roster.
