BOCA RATON, FL --- Spectacular senior, Shontavia Williams was named to the All-Conference first-team as announced by the Atlantic Sun Conference office on Tuesday. The Miami native has helped lead the Owls to their best A-Sun mark in school history by averaging 15.3 points to go along with 6.9 rebounds per game.

"Shontavia has been a very special player for us during her four years here," head coach Chancellor Dugan said. "She works so hard out their on the court during practice and in the games. I feel she is very deserving of this award."

This season she has surpassed over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds for her career. She is currently second on the all-time scoring list with 1,385 points and is third all-time with 580 rebounds.

The Health Administration major capped her fabulous career at FAU Arena with a season-high 26 points on Senior Night (03/04) as she lifted the Owls past the Campbell Camels. She combined that performance with 15 points and 10 rebounds vs. Gardner-Webb (03/02) to earn her second Player of the Week honor of the season. The 5'-7'' guard first won the award on Jan. 16 after scoring 41 points and grabbing 15 rebounds in two road wins over ETSU and Kennesaw State.

Williams has literally rewritten the record books in her four years at FAU. Her 100 career-starts are more than any other Owl in school history and her 364 career-free throw-makes are also the most all-time.

The former Miami Jackson High School star has scored in double-figures 22 times and exceeded 20-plus points six times on the season. Her four double-doubles were the most in any season during her tenure.

Williams finished the regular season sixth in the conference in scoring (15.3 ppg) and eighth in rebounding. Her 6.9 rebounds per game were more than any other guard in the A-Sun.

Williams and the rest of the Owls will battle Jacksonville University in the Quarterfinals of the Atlantic Sun Tournament on Thursday, Mar. 9 at 4:15 p.m. est.
