Pierce and Lee Receive A-Sun Honors

MACON, GA - Two members of the Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team have received post-season honors handed down today by the Atlantic Sun Conference. Tamica Pierce has been named First-Team All-Conference while LaKeita Lee has been named to the A-Sun's All-Freshman team.

Pierce, a junior from Decatur, GA, leads FAU with 16.6 points per game. The forward ranks third in the A-Sun in scoring. She leads the A-Sun in free throws and free throws attempted (159-of-207). Pierce is one of just two Lady Owls to start every game this year.

Lee, a forward from Oakland Park, FL, is averaging 8.2 points and 4.6 rebounds. She has started 10 of the 25 games she has played in.

Florida Atlantic is having its best season since moving to Division I. The Lady Owls have tied a team mark with 15 wins since making the switch and have set a record with 13 regular season A-Sun wins. Their 7-3 road record in the A-Sun is also a team record.

FAU heads to the A-Sun Tournament March 7-9 in Troy, AL as the no. 2 seed. The Lady Owls will be seeking their first A-Sun title and first trip to the NCAA Tournament.
