Granstad, Kinsley Grab All-Conference Honors

Nov. 9, 2005

BOCA RATON, FL -- Co-Captain Anders Granstad was named to an Atlantic Sun All-Conference squad for the fourth time in his Florida Atlantic University career on Wednesday, as voted by the league's coaches.

While the previous three seasons had yielded Second-Team All-Conference selections, this season's five-shutout effort was good enough for First-Team honors. The five shutouts not only tied a program record for single-season goose eggs, it helped Grastad set the FAU record with 12 shutouts in a career. The Olso, Norway native will be a key part of the Owls' postseason run.

Ryan Kinsley was also named to the First-Team All-Conference squad. The leader of the defensive unit helped the Owls to allow the third-fewest goals (23) in the A-Sun, just one more than Campbell and Gardner-Webb. The FAU defenders also gave up the second-fewest shot attempts among A-Sun members. This is Kinsley's first All-Conference award. The Coral Springs, FL native played every minute of every game this season while serving as the team's co-captain.
