FAU Back Home to Face Philadelphia University

Oct. 19, 2007

BOCA RATON, FL - After a week that included road tilts against Longwood and seventh-ranked University of Virginia, The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team begins an important three-game stretch of Atlantic Soccer Conference action at home against Philadelphia University this Saturday night.

FAU (5-7-1, 2-0-0 ASC) remains atop the conference standings following last weekend's 2-1 triumph over Longwood. Junior Shire Standnes provided the game-clinching score, pushing his team-leading season goal total to four.

The Rams (2-9-2, 1-1-1 ASC) claimed a satisfying 3-1 victory over fellow city rival St. Joseph's Tuesday night, breaking a three-game winless streak. Senior midfielder Devon Klipp leads Philadelphia in scoring (2G, 2A - 6 Pts), generating an impressive 25 shots (16 SOG) through 13 games this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Ezra Cassell has started every game, posting a 1.11 goals-against average and three shutouts.

Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at FAU Field, with live scoring available via GameTracker at fausports.com.
