Grabowiecka Continues Hot Start To 2005

Gainesville, Fla. - Sophomore Monika Grabowiecka continued the remarkable start to her collegiate career on Thursday at the Florida Relays. The Canadian native broke the 5,000m school record for the second time this season, finishing 11th in a time of 17:57.13. Other Owls who fared well included freshmen Trisha Doyle and Allison Wilcox, who set personal bests in the 5,000m and 3,000m steeplechase respectively. Senior Raynell Hagberg, who is redshirting this season, finished sixth in the 1,500m.

In other action, sophomore Linn Modin ran a season-best 4:46.08 in the 1,500m and sophomore Brittany Powers, running for the first time outdoors this season after undergoing knee surgery four weeks ago, ran a 19:12.77 in the 5,000m.
 

 

The Owls will continue competition in the Florida Relays on Friday with the sprint events, selected field events, and the 4x1,500m relay.
