Track Finishes Third At Disney Relays

Lake Buena Vista, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University track and field team had a successful day Saturday at the Disney Relays, taking four first-place finishes at the event and finishing third overall behind UCF and Baldwin-Wallace College. Sophomore Monika Grabowiecka won for a second consecutive week, taking the 3,000m in a time of 10:31.80, while the Owls also showed their depth by grabbing wins in the 4x100m, 4x200m and 4x400m relays.

Other top-three finishes came from Trisha Doyle in the 3,000m (3rd, 10:43.83) and 5,000m (3rd, 18:39.40), Lindsay Glover (2nd, 1:03.50) and Helenor Wilson (3rd, 1:04.40) in the 400m hurdles (2nd, 1:03.50), the 4x800m relay team (2nd, 9:38.16), the distance medley relay team (2nd, 12:45.81) and Nina Panebianco in the hammer (2nd, 44.58m) and the javelin (2nd, 33.56m).

The FAU track team will be back in action next weekend when they head to Coral Gables for the Hurricane Invitational.
