The Florida Atlantic University track team set five school records at the Valentine Invitational over the weekend.

Trishauna Clarke, who set the previous school record in the 55-meter dash, set the mark again by running a 7.12 in the preliminary. Clarke, a sophomore from Jamaica, would also break the school record in the 200-meter dash, running a 24.56 to finish 7th.

Yanique Booth would set the mark in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.93 on her way to a second place finish. It was the third record-setting performance of the indoor season for the senior, who held the previous record in the event and still hold the best 60-meter hurdle mark in program history.

Malika Clary kept the record-setting theme up by breaking the school mark in the 400 meters in a time of 56.82 seconds. She improved upon her program best time by 16/100ths of a second.

The 800-meter run would feature four Owls: Ashley Wilcox (2:21.60), Patricia Gumbs (2:22.13), Toni Jackson (2:23.92) and Lindsay Glover (2:22.85) setting personal records in the event.

The story of the meet, however, was Friederike Feil who smashed the school record in the 3,000 meter run in a time of 9:59.20. It beat the previous mark in the event by almost 14 seconds.

"It really was an awesome meet for us," Head Coach Alex Smolka said afterwards. "We had lot of personal and school records, and it's a great way to get ready for the conference meet. I'm very proud of the whole team."

The Owls will take part in their first ever Sun Belt Indoor Championships on February 23 and 24 in Jonesboro, AR.
