Women Run to 2nd Place Finish out of 11Teams

The women cross country runners of Endicott College had a great weekend at the Roger Williams Invitational. The women's team received second place overall honors out of 11 teams, losing only to Bridgewater State.

EC scored 86 points, placing 5 runners in the top 30. The Gulls were led by Lauren Alverson (Langley, VA), who placed 4th overall, despite battling a bad cold. Erica Spencer (Sterling, MA) also received individual honors at the meet for her 10th place finish. Sarah Clarke (Post Mills, VT) who battled some early season injuries showed that she was getting back to true form finshing the rugged 5k course in 22:44.

The freshmen duo of Katie Fitch (Rochester,NY) and Kathleen Lascelles (York,ME) rounded out the scoring for the women finshing 27th and 29th repectively.

The Gulls record stands 8-6 in the CCC - good enough for third place, with an overall record of 28-12. The Gulls will lace up their sneakers again this Saturday at the Regis College Invitational (11am start time).
