BEVERLY, MA - Freshman Meghan Sargent (Salisbury, MA/Salisbury) slugged four home runs and drove in eight runs last week as Endicott moved into sole possession of first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. For her efforts, Sargent was named the CCC Rookie of the Week.

Along with her four dingers, Sargent batted .615 with two doubles and seven runs scored. The catcher had a pair of two-hit games and drove in multiple runs in three of the six games she played.

The Gulls are 10-2 in the CCC and 12-10 overall and Sargent has been a vital contributor. She is scattered amongst the conference leaders in slugging percentage (1st: .857), home runs (2nd: 6), total bases (4th: 48), on-base percentage (5th: .469), batting average (7th: .393) and runs batted in (8th: 17).

The freshman showed her grit last Sunday in doubleheader sweep of Roger Williams in which the Gulls absolutely needed to win in order to stay atop the CCC standings. She was hit in the lip with a hard hit foul ball in the seventh inning of the first game, but finished the game and played all of the second game, going 1-for-3 with a run scored.
