BEVERLY, MA -- Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, MA/Blackstone-Millville Regional) scored a breakaway goal 2:03 into the second sudden death to power Endicott past Wheaton, 2-1, Tuesday night at North Field on the campus of Endicott College.
The Gulls (2-1) poured 24 shots, including eight by Rheaume, on the Lyons, who dipped to 1-2. The hosts tied the game in the second half on freshman Aisha McClinton's (Standfordville, NY/Stissing Mountain) first career goal.
Wheaton's Alisa Ardito (Branford, CT/Branford) opened the scoring 47:38 into the second half before McClinton knotted the game at 1-1 less than two minutes later.
Endicott dominated the first overtime pouring on eight shots to the Lyons' one but the Gulls could not break through goaltender Emily Fiskio (Brandford, CT/Branford). The senior goalkeeper made 20 in all while Endicott junior netminder Erin Curry (Hampstead, NH/Gould Academy) turned away 15 shots.
Endicott is back in action Thursday when it hosts Framingham State College at 4:00 P.M.
