Gulls Outplayed by Chargers in 63-40 Loss

The Colby-Sawyer College women's basketball team increased its winning streak to four games and remained unbeaten in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) with a 63-40 home victory over Endicott College in New London, NH. This is the Gulls first loss of the season in the CCC.

The Chargers (6-4, 4-0 CCC) never trailed and used a 15-2 run to take an 18-4 lead midway through the opening period. They were up by as many as 23 points in the first half and held a 35-14 advantage at the break. Colby-Sawyer led by at least 18 for the remainder of the evening.

The Chargers' forward Anne Coulter (SO, Hudson, NH/Bishop Guertin HS) went 5-for-7 from the field and had a game-high 14 points to go with her eight rebounds. Teammate Lisa Cole (JR, Athol, MA/Athol HS) scored all 13 of her points in the first half and Jaime Peterman (JR, Nottingham, NH/Coe-Brown Northwood Academy) added eight points, nine boards, and six assists to the win.

Sophomore guard Jodi Brown led the Gulls (5-6, 2-1 CCC) with 10 points, while senior center Jenn Grace grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

The Gulls are off until Tuesday's 6:00 p.m. conference game at Gordon College (Wenham, MA). Colby-Sawyer will stay at home to host CCC rival Nichols College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
