QUINCY, MA - Playing without its No. 1 singles player, Josh Schoen (Phoenix, AZ/Arcadia), Endicott College dropped its Commonwealth Coast Conference men's tennis opening match, 7-2, to Eastern Nazarene College.

The Gulls (1-4, 0-1 CCC) got points at fifth singles from Marc Maloney (Feeding Hills, MA/Agawam) and second doubles from Scott Teller (Granville, NY/Granville), 6-2, 6-1, and David Micka (Belchertown, MA/Belchertown), 8-3.

Endicott lost at No. 1 singles, Teller (0-6, 0-6); No. 2 singles, Gabriel Moraga (Marlboro, MA/Hebron Academy) (2-6, 6-3, 3-6); No. 3 singles, Micka (5-7, 5-7); No. 4 singles, Parker Olen (Falmouth, ME/Falmouth) (2-6, 7-5, 0-6); and No. 6 singles, Nate Buell (Westfield, MA/Westfield) (5-7, 1-6).

Moraga/Olen were defeated at first doubles, 1-8, and Maloney/Buell lost at third doubles, 5-8.

Endicott will be back in action Wednesday afternoon when it travels to Salem State (3:30 PM).
