Final Stats

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Elizabeth City State University Lady Vikings were shutout 8-0 by regional power Bloomsburg University Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Vikings were held hitless through six and a half innings before Maishiyah Brown and Livia Baker broke their team's drought on back to back singles. However it was too late to muster a comeback after the game was called because of the eight-run rule after the final Lady Viking out of the sixth inning. Bloomsburg's Tara Reed pitched the two hit shutout, striking out 8 of the 20 batter she faced. For the Lady Vikings, Livia Baker was handed her first loss as a starter as she gave up 7 hits versus 3 strikeouts. The Lady Vikings fall to 0-5, while Bloomsburg improves to 4-6.
