Dec. 1, 2007

Final Stats

RALEIGH, NC- The Elizabeth City State Lady Vikings dropped a 77-66 overtime decision to Saint Augustine's College Saturday afternoon at Emery Gymnasium.

Joyce Freeman hit two clutch free throws with 16 seconds remaining to send the game to the extra session knotted at 57 apiece. Unfortunately for ECSU the Lady Falcons (3-2, CIAA 2-1) would outscore them 20-9 in the overtime to earn the victory. Erica Knox paced four Lady Falcons in double figures with a team high 23 points.

The Lady Vikings held a commanding rebounding edge behind a 25 board performance by All-American Celeste Trahan who also amassed a game high 27 points. That double-double represents the 66th of her career. Joyce Freeman was the only other ECSU player to register double figures with 13 points.

The Lady Vikings (2-2, CIAA 1-2) will return to action on Monday, December 3 when they travel to Washington, DC to take on the University of the District of Columbia. Game time is scheduled for 6:00pm. For more on ECSU Athletics, visit www.ecsuvikings.com.
