A quick and shifty running back who provided an increasingly thin Pirates' backfield with a sizable lift in 2008 after utilizing an unconventional redshirt season following a transfer from junior college in 2007 ... Coaching staff elected for redshirt year due to the added depth and return of eventual first-round NFL draft choice Chris Johnson to the tailback position in '07 ... Will open final season in the East Carolina program as a top reserve behind Brandon Jackson and Dominique Lindsay but should still experience extensive playing time in a multitude of possible offensive formations ... Also could experience action on various special teams squads ... Rushed for 37 yards on 13 carries while making two catches for 12 yards in the first spring scrimmage (4/4) ... Picked up a team-high 49 ground yards on 11 attempts and recorded a pair of receptions for 20 yards in second contest (4/8) ... Ran for a unit-best 51 yards on 14 carries and caught a team-leading five passes for 31 yards during Purple-Gold Game (4/18) ... Closed out the scoring with a 50-yard touchdown ramble midway through the fourth quarter.

2008: Bounced back from redshirt season in 2007 and fall camp injuries to play solid role in the Pirates' three-running back rotation ... Played in 10 games and made only start against Kentucky in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl as part of ECU's two-tailback scheme (with Brandon Simmons) ... Overall, rushed for 134 yards on 33 carries - an average of 4.1 yards per attempt ... Posted a personal-long run of 25 yards on two occasions (vs. Tulsa in the Conference USA Championship Game and vs. Kentucky) ... Racked up a career-high 54 ground yards on a personal-best 10 carries at UAB to help Pirates clinch their first divisional title ... Caught six passes for 16 yards with a long gain of nine (Southern Miss) on first reception of season ... Also returned only kickoff for 36 yards vs. Blazers and tallied only special teams tackle against UTEP ...
