Beahan, Howard Named to the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team

Emily Beahan and Samantha Howard have been named to the Atlantic 10 Cross Country Academic All-Conference Team.

Beahan finished third overall at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championship (18:38) leading DU to a fifth place finish. Additionally, she finished eighth of 306 runners (18:12) at the National Catholic Cross Country Invitational, crossed 45th of 317 at the Paul Short Invitational (21.41) and was 45th of 235 runners at the NCAA Pre-Nationals (21:41). Beahan was also the winner of the 2007 Duquesne Duals crossing in 18:20. She crossed 47th at the 2007 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals with a time of 21:50. The junior physical therapy major had a 3.93 cumulative GPA.

Howard, in her senior season, finished 10th overall at A-10 Championship (19:07). Her best showing was a second place finish of 306 runners (17:44) at the National Catholic Cross Country Invitational, which was a Duquesne school record in a 5k. She crossed 20th of 317 at the Paul Short Invitational (21.16) and was 20th of 235 runners at the NCAA Pre-Nationals (21:16). She had a time of 21:24 (33rd place) at the 2007 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals. Howard is a history major who has a cumulative GPA of 3.92.
