Rowing Dukes Take Gold in Two Events

Duquesne opened its spring season with a strong showing at the Marietta Invitational Saturday taking gold in the Varsity Four and Novice Eight events. The Dukes' next Regatta is the Knecht Cup Apr. 8-9 on the Cooper River.
The Dukes took first in the Varsity Four with the "B" squad (the Novice Four) finishing second. Taking first for the Dukes was the Varsity Four boat of Stroke: Katie Hodnik, Katie Stutz, Beatrice Bruno, Becky Lingerfelt and coxswain Katie McGravey.
Duquesne also had a solid finish in the Novice 8 which finished .50 ahead of host Marietta for the win. Leading the crew was Stroke: Brittey DelPizzo, Bridget O'Brien, Andrea Komanecky, Loren Churchin, Kelly KeNucci, Maddie Marcenelle, Annie Sopic, Halyna Tarnawskyj and coxswain Kristen Budic.
The Red & Blue's next Regatta is the Knecht Cup slated for Apr. 8-9 in Cooper River, N.J.
