Red and Blue Place Fourth at National Open

Duquesne University's men's cross country team placed fourth of 37 teams at the 2005 Penn State National Cross Country Meet. The Dukes, whose avertage time was 26:11, were led by junior Chris Horvat who placed 15th in the 294-runner event followed by sophomore Tom Slosky who finished 35th.
Eastern Michigan won the competition with an average time of 25:51. Providence's Martin Fagan, Jr claimed the individual crown, crossing the 8K line in 24:56.
Saint Joseph's, the only other Atlantic 10 squad at this meet, was 23rd with a team time of 27:00.
The Dukes, who are seventh in the latest United States College Cross Country Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Region poll, turn to the trails on Saturday, Oct. 29 as they compete in the Atlantic 10 Championship in Philadelphia.
