Dukes Chop Down Colonials, 3-1

Nov. 3, 2007

Box Score

Duquesne's men's soccer team took an early lead and cruised to a 3-1 victory over visiting George Washington Friday evening in a pivotal Atlantic 10 match-up.

Junior Drew Jeffery found the back of the net in the seventh minute off a well-designed set piece from senior Pat Flinn as the Red and Blue took a 1-0 advantage into halftime.

Just two minutes into the second stanza, Flinn set up another goal, finding senior Travis MacKenzie in front of the net for a 2-0 lead.

The Colonials briefly bounced back however, scoring in the 65th minute before freshman Stefan Lundberg stole a pass at mid-field and beat the GW defense and goalkeeper for a 3-1 victory.

The Red and Blue will host Richmond on Sunday at 2:30. The 2007 seniors will be honored prior to the match.
