Freshman Allysa Detroy brought both a singles and doubles win to the Flyers

Results

The UD women's tennis slipped past Duquesne University with a 4-3 win over the Dukes.

Singles play started off with a win by senior Erin Kirkland (Dayton, OH) over Johanna Bezjak 6-2, 6-0. Freshman Allysa Detroy (Evansville, IN) snatched victory from Julie Wagner 6-3, 6-2. The third singles win came from freshman Megan Gray (Akron, OH) over Ciara McDermott 6-0, 6-0.

The Flyers swept the Dukes in doubles play. Kirkland and fellow senior Courtney McDowell (Centerville, OH) defeated Jacqueline and McDermott 8-0. Taking the second-seed victory was Detroy and sophomore Kara Metzger (Franksville, WI) over Bezjak and Wagner 8-5. Gray and sophomore Kate Mellion (Clinton, OH) sealed the victory with a win against Sarah Shanahan and Alicia McNamara.

The final match score was Dayton 4, Duquesne 3. The team's overall record moves to 11-5.

The Flyers next face Northern Kentucky on Monday, April 11 in Dayton at 3:30 p.m.
