DAYTON SPILTS WINS AT GEORGE WASHINGTON



Shannon St. Clair walked for her 101 walk in her career and was one for four with a RBI in game two.

Washington, D.C. - The University of Dayton Flyers traveled to Washington D.C. as they took on the Colonials in an Atlantic 10 double header. The Flyers fell in the first game a 2-0 loss but were able to beat the Colonials in the second game 2-1 in nine innings.

The Flyers move to 13-13-1 after this weekends games.

In the first game, George Washington scored first with a run in both the 2nd and 6th innings as Dayton was unable to produce any runs.

The Flyers were held to only four hits in game one and made only one error.

Dayton won their second game against George Washington 2-1 in nine innings.

UD was the first to score in the second game of the double header starting with Christine Eggers reaching first on an error by the third baseman. Shannon St. Clair walked for her 101 walk in her career and was one for four with a RBI in game two. Both players then advanced on a passed ball. Tamsyn Kellough then flied out to center field to score Eggers and put Dayton up 1-0. Kellough was two for four in game two with an RBI.

George Washington came back in the third as Meyers singled to left center field to score Kegler from second.

In the ninth inning Ellie Malchow reached first on a fielding error by the shortstop. Eggers then walked followed by a single up the middle by Shannon St. Clair to score the go ahead run for UD as they were able to come away with the win.

Melissa Myher took the circle for both games against George Washington as she allowed only thirteen hits, three runs and striking out eleven while only walking three.

Dayton will travel to Toledo Tuesday in a non-conference double header beginning at 4 p.m. The Flyers will then return home to face the La Salle Explorers Saturday in an Atlantic 10 double header at 3 p.m.
