The Flyers (6-4-3) will try to regain first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference this weekend as they host George Washington (9-7-0) on Friday (Oct. 20) at 7:30 p.m. E.T. and La Salle (7-8-0) on Sunday (Oct. 22) at 1 p.m. E.T. on Senior Day at Baujan Field. With a 4-1 conference record, the Dayton women are currently in a three-way tie for 2nd place with Fordham and Charlotte, but sit only a half game back of conference leader Rhode Island.

LAST TIME OUT
The Dayton Flyers (6-4-3) went 1-1 in last week's play, defeating Duquesne on Friday night (Oct. 13) on a game winning goal by junior Dara Elk in the 41st minute. Elk dribbled into the box and lofted a shot over the head of the Duquesne goalie for her third goal of the year.

On Sunday the Flyers had their five-game win streak snapped in a 2-0 loss to Saint Louis. The Dayton women couldn't find the back of the net as they only put up seven shots the whole game, their lowest output of the 2006 season.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Colonials enter this weekend at 9-7-0 record overall and a 2-4-0 record in the A-10 (10th). On Friday (Oct. 13) the GW women fell 2-1 to Fordham after scoring the game's first goal just three minutes in. On Sunday (Oct. 15) they returned the favor to St. Bonaventure, winning 2-1 over former Flyer assistant coach Manoj Khettry's Bonnies. The young Colonial squad that features only two seniors on the roster, is led on the year in points by Sophomore forward Meg Pyle (6 g, 13a) and defensively by senior Shari Taylor, who was a 2005 second team All-Atlantic 10 pick. The Flyers hold a 7-3 advantage over the Colonials in the all-time series between the two.

SCOUTING LA SALLE
The Explorers are 7-8-0 overall and 4-2-0 in A-10 (T-5th) play having gone 1-1 last weekend. On Friday (Oct. 13) La Salle topped St. Bonaventure 1-0 on a game-winning goal in the 25th minute by sophomore Dana Giordana, who leads the team in points (13) and goals (6). On Sunday, (Oct. 15) the Explorers lost a heartbreaker to Fordham 2-1 with just 2:30 remaining in double overtime. The La Salle defense is backed by sophomore goalkeeper Amy Grant (not the singer) who is second in the conference behind UD's Tasha Dittamore with a goal against average of .75. The Flyers are 11-1 all-time against the explorers with the only loss coming in the 2000 season.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following this weekend, UD will wrap up regular season play as they travel to Richmond on Friday (Oct. 27) at 7:00 p.m. E.T. and then head to Charlotte on Sunday (Oct. 29) at 1:00 p.m. E.T.

GOAL HUNGRY
Before being held scoreless last Sunday against Saint Louis, the Flyers had scored 13 goals during their five game win streak. Previous to the streak, the UD women had only scored five goals total in their first seven games of the season. They have already scored nine goals their in five Atlantic 10 Conference games this year.

SUPER SUB
Junior forward Dara Elk has come off the bench in nine of the Flyers' 10 games this season, but has been a tremendous threat scoring three goals and adding one assist while taking only nine shots. Eight of Elk's nine shots have been on goal, giving her an amazing Shot on Goal % of .889. She scored the game winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Duqesne on Oct. 13th.

YOUNG GUNS
The freshman tandem of Mandi Back, Colleen Gibson, and Caitlin Proffitt combine for 39% (9 goals, 2 assists, 20 points) of the Flyers offensive production this season, having taken 80 of the teams 176 shots. Freshman Goalie Tasha Dittamore posts an outstanding .60 goals against average in six games played, and has only allowed 3 goals in five starts. Dittamore leads the A-10 in goals against and goals against average.
