ALLENDALE, Mich. - The University of Dayton women's golf team opened the 2004-05 season Monday and Tuesday at Grand Valley State's Laker Fall Classic. UD placed eighth out of 17 teams at the 36-hole tournament, which was held at The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, Michigan.

Junior Tiffany Ruhe (Ottawa, OH) led the Flyers with rounds of 83 and 86 for a two-round total of 169, which placed her 32nd. She was followed by junior Melissa Juve (Akron, OH), who was tied for 33rd (86-84-170), senior Carolyn Fuchs (Louisville, KY), who was tied for 44th (88-87-175), sophomore Lindsey Grueter (Chardon, OH), who was also tied for 44th (93-82-175), senior Laura Caleal (West Bloomfield, MI), who was 51st (89-87-176) and sophomore Melissa Gaus Noblesville, IN), who was 66th (95-88-183).

Dayton's next action will be September 18-19 at Bowling Green State University's Falcon Fall Invitational.
