March 12, 2007 DAYTON, Ohio - UD Arena will play host to a stacked Dayton Regional on March 25 & 27. The top four seeds in the Region are Tennessee, Maryland, Oklahoma and Ohio State. Top-seeded Tennessee enters the NCAA Tournament following a 28-3 regular season record that included a perfect 15-0 mark in SEC regular-season play. Six-time champion Tennessee is now the only team that has competed in every NCAA tournament after Louisiana Tech didn't make the field this year. The Lady Vols, who are a No. 1 seed for the 17th time in 20 years, will open up Sunday against No. 16 Drake in Pittsburgh. The defending National Champion Maryland Terrapins are the second seed in the Dayton Region. UM has been ranked in the Top 10 throughout the entire season and enters NCAA Tournament action with a 27-5 overall record and a 10-5 mark in ACC play. The Terrapins advanced to the ACC Semifinals before falling, 78-72 to North Carolina who is the top seed in the Dallas Region. Maryland, which returned all five starters from last year's team, begins play on Sunday against IVY League Champion Harvard in Harford, Conn. Third-seeded Oklahoma enters the tournament field for the eighth consecutive season after winning the Big 12 Regular Season and Tournament Championships. The Sooners (26-4, 13-3 Big 12) have reached the Sweet 16 five times and also advanced to the National Championship Game in 2002. OU opens play against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday at Noon ET in Austin, Texas. Fourth-seeded Ohio State won the Big Ten Regular Season Title and advanced to the Championship Game of the Conference Tournament before falling to Purdue, 64-52. The Buckeyes (28-3, 15-1 Big Ten) are making their 16th appearance in the NCAA postseason. OSU begins action on Saturday against Marist in Stanford, Cal. Other games in the Dayton regional include: No. 5 Middle Tennessee, which has won 26 straight games, vs. No. 12 Gonzaga; No. 6 Marquette vs. No. 11 Louisiana-Lafayette; No. 7 Mississippi vs. No. 10 TCU; No. 8 Pittsburgh vs. No. 9 James Madison.
