Before Friday's game, fans were treated to demonstrations from Flyer athletics teams as part of National Girls and Women in Sports Night. Dayton tipped off against first-place Charlotte on Friday to begin an A-10 weekend homestand. Sophomore Karah Cloxton's career-high 13 assists was one shy of the school single-game record. She also secured her first double-double by adding 11 points.

Angela Cape posted a season-high 11 points against the 49ers. Members of the UD volleyball team were recognized along with other Flyer athletes at halftime for their role in NGWS night. Senior Cara Wright posted her A-10 leading 12th double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

UD Head Coach Jim Jabir led Dayton from 12 points down at the half to within two at one point. Nearly 1,100 fans filled UD Arena for Dayton's first on two women's home games this weekend.
