Philadelphia, PA - The University of Dayton men's and women's cross country teams posted sixth and tenth place finishes at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning.

The men's team improved upon an eighth-place finish last season behind the strength of freshman Matt Lemon's eighth-place time of 25:54. For his efforts, Lemon was presented with Most Outstanding Rookie honors. He was one of just nine runners to cross the finish line in under 26 minutes.

Lemon's twin brother, Chris, followed in second position for Dayton with a time of 26:35 (26th Place). Senior Billy Przybyla also scored for the Flyers, claiming 39th place in a time of 26:56.

Juniors Tommy Middleton (77th, 27:54) and Tim Kaelin (80th, 28:00) rounded out the scoring for UD.

For the women, freshman Liz Coorey placed 27th overall in the 5K race with a time of 20:00. It was the third straight meet Coorey came in at the top spot for Dayton.

For the first time this season, it wasn't another freshman in the second position. Junior Anne Oltman came in 55th overall and second for the Flyers in 20:44.

Another junior, Ellen Nienhaus, scored for the first time this season. Nienhaus notched a 59th-place finish in a time of 20:50.

Freshman Brigitte Sherman and sophomore Kate Tejkl completed the scoring positions for Dayton. Sherman turned in a time of 20:54, good for 62nd-place, while Tejkl came in just behind in 20:55 to claim 63rd-place.

Junior Sydney Hubbard and sophomore Kristin Terry were right in the middle of the Dayton pack at the end of the race as well. Hubbard was one second behind Tejkl (20:56, 64th) and Terry was just three seconds off Hubbard's time (20:59, 69th).

Up next for both squads will be the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals on November 10th in Bloomington, Indiana.
