DAYTON, Ohio - Matt Peters and Daniel Sammons finished in first and second in the 5000 meter at the Cedarville Yellow Jacket Invite on Saturday leading the University of Dayton men's cross country team in the team's second outdoor meet of the year. Peters finished in 15:30.03 placing first out of 29 runners, while Sammons placed second (15:34.02) recording a personal best along the way. Other Flyers to post strong finishes in the 5000 meter include Billy Przybyla (15:53.73) who placed eighth overall with his time. Brad Boyd finished 15th (16:12.17), Tommy Middleton came in at 16th (16:13.03), while Derek Henderson and Michael Connolly posted times of 16:19.77 and 17:13.32. In the 1500 meter, Matt Peters placed seventh among 25 runners in a time of 4:06.00, while fellow teammate Tim Kaelin crossed the finish line at 4:27.37. Next up for the Flyers is the Men's Cross Country Distance Classic to take place in Toledo, Ohio on April 14. |
