UD MEN'S & WOMEN'S GOLF TEAMS FINISH THIRD AT CROSSTOWN FALL FINALE

HAMILTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's and women's golf teams each finished third at the Crosstown Fall Finale Thursday at the Hamilton Elks Golf Club. Freshman Matt Friend shot a 74 to lead the Flyer men while freshman Michelle Borchers shot an 84 to pace the women.

Friend piloted the Flyers, who played four freshmen and one sophomore in the event. Freshman Nick Trubee carded a 78, sophomore Mike Molnar shot an 80, freshman Mark Juve finished with an 81 and freshman Mitch Custenborder fired an 83.

On the women's side, junior Lindsey Greuter shot an 86, sophomore Mark Kane came home with an 89, freshman Danielle Hawksley carded a 92 and freshman Malia Widder finished with a 103.

The UD men finished with a team of score 313. The Northern Kentucky University won the men's event with a two-under score of 286. The UD women's fired a 351 as a team. The University of Cincinnati won the women's title with a 314.

The UD men return to action Oct. 10 and 11 at the Crown Plaza Colonial Classic hosted by Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh while the women will take the course again Oct. 17 and 18 at the IPFW Classic in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
