AT DAYTON:
Johnston came to UD as a defensive back and after redshirting the 2007 season and adding 35 pounds, he moved to defensive end and played in three games for the Flyers in 2008. He is now on offense, now as a tight end. He was a member of the 2008 PFL Academic Honor Roll.

Son of James and Fristen Johnston....Born January 24, 1989....Has one sister and one brother....Majoring in Business at UD....Alex was team captain, and first team all-conference in football and a two-year letterman in track for Gonzaga.
