Norman Plummer, Jr. is back to patrol the paint after two productive seasons in the Red & Blue. Last season he collected his share of hardware by earning two end-of-the-year Dayton awards, a game MVP trophy and an all-tournament berth.

As Dayton's top rebounder, the Cincinnati, Ohio native took home the "Shorty" Sharpenter Memorial Rebounding Trophy. Plummer averaged 6.5 rebounds a game. He was also named the winner of the Dr. George Rau Spirit Award.

He was named the Blackburn/McCafferty MVP in the Xavier win after leading UD with 15 points and seven rebounds, and scoring UD's last five points in the final minute.

And he joined Roberts on the Las Vegas Holiday Classic All-Tournament Team, tallying double-doubles in three of the four games.

On the year, Plummer was UD's third-leading scorer (10.0) and was also second in minutes played (26.5). UD's most consistent player in terms of statistical production, Plummer scored at least eight points 23 times and grabbed at least eight rebounds 14 times in 2005-06. After starting the year five of 13 from the line, he shot .747 (71-95) in the last 24 games.

This followed a freshman season where he was third on the team in scoring (9.1) and second in rebounding (4.4), FG% (.450, 90-200) and minutes (23.6). He also led the Flyers in offensive rebounds (2.2). In fact, over half of his rebounds came off the offensive glass (65 of 127).

He was the first freshman to start his very first college game at UD in seven years. But he seemed to avoid the proverbial "wall," ending the year with four double-figure games in his last five games. He averaged 13.8 points down the stretch, and was the team's top scorer in the A-10 tournament, scoring 33 points in the two games.

He came to Dayton after an impressive season at the 2004 prep school national champion, Hargrave Military Academy. Plummer was Hargrave's team captain, leading scorer (22.8 ppg.) and rebounder (9.6 rpg.) in 2003-04. A strong defender, he led his team to a 25-1 record. He was one of eight Division I players on the team.

In 2003-04, Plummer played for Brewster Academy in Brewster, New Hampshire. He helped Brewster to a #10 final ranking, averaging 26.0 points and 9.1 rebounds a game. He had 13 games of over 30 points in 2002-03 and was the leading scorer among New England prep schools.

Norman also played for Ozie Davis as a member of the Queen City Prophets AAU team.

Norman is the son of Tracey Strader.
