The 2006 Atlantic 10 Baseball Championships will be at the front of each player's minds this weekend as Dayton heads to Fordham for a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series. UD enters the weekend with a chance to earn its second straight berth in the postseason at the site of this year's tournament.

The Flyers and Rams will play Friday (7:00 p.m.), Saturday (4:00 p.m.) and Sunday (1:00 p.m.) at Jack Coffey Field in the Bronx. All three games can be followed with live audio and Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com.

Dayton enters the weekend on a four-game winning streak and sits second in the Atlantic 10 Conference standings. UD has swept four of its last five conference series and can clinch a berth in the conference tournament by winning two games this weekend at Fordham.

The Flyers are also two wins ahead of last year's pace which broke the school record for victories in a season (36). Dayton is also on track to rank as one of the top five offensive and defensive combinations in Flyer history. UD already ranks in the Top Five in team doubles, triples, stolen bases and batters struck out in a season.

Dayton has made a habit this season of building an early lead and carrying that advantage to victory. UD has a 14-3 record when scoring in the first inning and an 18-1 record when leading after six innings. The Flyers have also outscored their opponents in all but the first, second and seventh innings this season.

UD has won four straight games entering the weekend behind a pitching staff that has a 2.87 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 38.0 innings pitched. The Flyers have scored 5.75 runs per game during that stretch while collecting nine doubles, a triple and two home runs.

Dayton will be joined in the dugout on Saturday by Shaun Brennan. Brennan, who has down's syndrome, recently celebrated his 50th birthday and will be representing area Flyer fans and alumni as an honorary coach.

Following the weekend series at Fordham, UD will travel to Toledo for a Tuesday game with the Rockets at 3 p.m. ET. The final non-conference regular-season game of the year can also be followed live with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com.
