Woodberry Named WHAC Player of the Week for Third Time this Year



Woodberry will lead the Panthers into Cornerstone on Wednesday night

Grand Rapids, Mich. - For the third time this year, Jeanette Woodberry was named the Player of the Week in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference. The senior from Detroit, MI helped the Panthers to two big wins in conference play to lift DU to 18-3 on the year and 5-0 in the WHAC.

Jeanette, a 5'8 guard, had two outstanding games for the Panthers last week against Aquinas and UM Dearborn. In the first matchup of two Top 25 teams in the WHAC this year, Jeanette posted an all around game with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals in #11 Davenport's 81-64 victory over #17 Aquinas College. She followed up that game with a 24 point, 9 rebound and 3 steal performance against UM Dearborn on Saturday. For the week, Woodberry averaged 25 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Woodberry will lead Davenport into its biggest WHAC game up to this point when they travel to Cornerstone University on Wednesday night for a 5:30 matchup with the Golden Eagles. Woodberry was dominating in two games last year against CU as she posted two games of 30 and 39 points in two Panthers victories.
