Europe - Three members of the Davenport University Men's Hockey team and Head Coach Paul Lowden have been spending some time across the pond playing for the ACHA Select Team and will ring in the new year in Munich, Germany. The Panthers' Bill McSween, Adam Thomas and Dayne Gluting all were selected to play on the select team that is playing five games against teams from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. The Select Team got off to a great start as they defeated EHC Frauenfeld 6-4 on Saturday, December 29. They then won a thrilling 2-1 overtime game against SC Weinfelden. Both of those games were played in Switzerland. On the first day of the new year, they will find themselves in Austria where they will take on EHC Bregenzerwald. They will then travel to Germany and the Czech Republic for the remaining two games on the schedule.
