Mitch Kallick

Titans Hire New Assistant Volleyball Coach

May 30, 2007

Fullerton, Calif. - Mitch Kallick, an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee the past season, has been named an assistant women¹s volleyball coach at Cal State Fullerton, as announced by Head Coach Carolyn Zimmerman. He will begin his duties on June 1.

Kallick was the volunteer coach for the Volunteers, who had a 19-12 record and gained the NCAA Tournament where they lost to Duke in the first round. He previously was an assistant at New York University for three years and has head coaching experience at the club level for Smoky Mountain Juniors VBC.

³I am excited to have Mitch join our staff. He has shown through his dedication to coaching that he is willing to work hard and go the extra mile to learn about all facets of a Division I volleyball program,² said Zimmerman. ³I am looking forward to working with him and continuing to build a nationally recognized program. He will bring a lot of enthusiasm to the position. Mitch has the energy and is ready to apply his experience to help the program continue to rise.²

Kallick will work with all facets of the Cal State Fullerton volleyball team, including training outside hitters and coordinating travel, recruiting, live video streaming with CSTV and working with game breakdown software to assist with the scouting of opponents.

Kallick¹s playing career began with the Las Vegas Volleyball Club and took him to NYU, where he graduated in 2002 after a Final Four appearance. He played one professional season for Clube Desportivo de Povoa in Portugal.

Kallick replaces Jennifer Adeva, who resigned to take a position at Wake Forest.
