Player Profile

Position:
Assistant Coach (1st Season)

Four-year starter Lauryn Welch joins the Cal State Fullerton coaching staff for the 2007 season after concluding a spectacular career in a Titan uniform.

Welch, a three-time All-Big West Conference selection, started all 73 games of her career until a knee injury in the 11th match of the 2006 season sidelined her for the remainder of her senior year.

She finished her career ranked tied for seventh on the school's all-time points list with 46 and tied for sixth with 17 goals. Her 12 all-time assists also rank tied for the ninth while her six game-winning goals rank tied for third.

Welch had her best season as a junior in helping the Titans to the NCAA "Sweet 16," leading the team in scoring with nine goals and a four assists (22 points) en route to All-Big West First-Team honors. She became the first Titan to earn Big West Tournament MVP honors after scoring three times to help Fullerton to the title.

As a senior, she ranked second on the team in scoring (5 goals, 2 assists) despite missing 11 matches, and was named an NSCAA Scholar All-American for her work in the classroom.
