CLEVELAND, Ohio - Freshman Caitlan Ebner was named the Horizon League Cross Country Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Kent State Short Course Classic on Saturday (Oct. 21). The league office made the announcement on Tuesday, Oct. 24. It is the first time she has been honored this year.

Ebner, a native of North Royalton, Ohio, placed 15th at the 3K meet with a time of 12:10 and has finished first for the Vikings in all seven of the team's meets this season.

"Caitlan has been our toughest runner all year," head coach Joe Jaketic said. "She is a great runner and a great person who is very deserving of this honor."

The Vikings head to the Horizon League Championships this Saturday (Oct. 28) in Indianapolis, Ind. The women's race will begin immediately after the men, at approximately 12:40 p.m.
