Nov. 12, 2005
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Cleveland State wrapped up the 2005 season by competing at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Saturday afternoon on the Indiana campus. Michigan claimed the team title with 52 points, edging out Notre Dame which finished second with 68 points. The Vikings were 32nd with 1,020 points. The Horizon League was well-represented as Butler's Victoria Mitchell won the race with a time of 20:37.0 to help the Bulldogs to a fourth-place finish. Notre Dame's Stephanie Madia and Molly Huddle finished second and third with times of 21:00.8 and 21:04.5, respectively. Twins Julie (195th) and Audrey Piotrowski (197th) led the Cleveland State effort with nearly identical times of 26:17.8 and 26:18.6, while Sherri Douglas (199th) followed close behind at 26:22.3. "It was a good experience to run in a big meet, but I don't think we were ready physically or mentally for this kind of competition," CSU head coach Joe Jaketic said. "Regardless of today's results, I couldn't be more proud of what this team accomplished this season." Team Results Individual Results Cleveland State Individuals |
