Softball Series At Detroit Cancelled

April 22, 2005

CLEVELAND - It seems as though Mother Nature may be the only thing capable of cooling off the Cleveland State softball team. Winners of eight of their last 10 games, the Vikings will have to wait a few days to play again as their three-game Horizon League series scheduled for this weekend (April 23-24) at Detroit has been cancelled due to 4-6 inches of snow that have been predicted for the region.

This marks the second Horizon League weekend series that CSU has lost to snow. The Vikings were slated to host UW-Green Bay on April 2-3, but nearly six inches of snow in Cleveland forced the Phoenix to return home without seeing a single pitch.

Cleveland State (14-21, 4-4 HL) will take to the field again on Wednesday (April 27) when the Vikings travel to Toledo for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
