Dallas Boyer, a 2005 Miami University graduate returns to the Vikings in 2008 for his second season as an assistant coach of the CSU women's soccer program. Boyer is responsible for overseeing the program's tecnical development program, working with the players in individual sessions to help them increase their playing ability. He will also work with the CSU defenders this season. Administratively, Boyer organizes the Viking team travel and coordinates the equipment needs of players. "Dallas is a young, energetic passionate coach who I believe has a promising career in coaching ahead of him," head coach Derek Falor said. "He understands the blueprint that I have for building this program and his skills compliment mine well." Boyer joined the program in January of 2007 and was able to assist the program through its spring schedule. A four-year letterman in soccer at Parma Senior High School, Boyer served as team captain as both a junior and a senior, earning first team all-league and all-greater Cleveland honors as a senior. He set a school record for assists in a match (8) and graduated ranking second all-time in career assists. Following graduation, he spent two years coaching the boys soccer program at his alma mater. As an undergraduate at Miami, Boyer worked with the school's Youth M-League, coaching in the 8-10 year old boys league for three seasons. He gradudated cum laude in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in adolescent integrated social studies, earning a spot on the dean's list in each of his eight semesters. Boyer returned to the Cleveland area after graduating, earning Greater Cleveland Assistant coach of the Year honors at Parma in 2005 and helping the program earn the Greater Cleveland Division 1 Team Sportsmanship Award the following year. In the off-season, he was active as a coach in the Olympic Development Program, working as an assistant coach with the 1992 girls squad. An active member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, he has a National "D" coaching certificate and a grade 8 referees license. Boyer, his wife Kristen and son Casey reside in Parma. |
