September Newsletter (2001-2002 Season)

Family & Friends of CSU Wrestling,

This will be our last issue of the newsletter in this format. Look to our web-site www.csuvikings.com for all updates and needed information on our program. You can see results, current and future news, purchase wrestling attire, and e-mail me through the web-site. Please continue to download and fill-out the club form and return annually whether you choose to donate or not. By returning the club form you are letting me and my boss know that there is an interest in our program. There is currently a firm commitment to excellence by our administration to CSU wrestling and your interest will help it to continue. We spend a lot more than we bring in each year in dollar amounts. However, as I'm sure you are aware, you can not put a price on the opportunities, experiences, life-lessons, and discipline our great sport can provide. Faithful wrestling fans must still continue to keep our sport strong by attending events and making annual donations. We must not sit on our hands and watch our great sport fade.

I strongly feel we are making an impact on our student/athletes. Providing leaders of character who are learning to make better choices and decisions in their everyday lives. Upon graduation from CSU and our program, wrestlers are better prepared to be successful and contribute in a positive way to society.

In my three years with the program our team grade point average has been recognized by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (1999=20th, 2000=7th, 2001=8th out of 90 Division I teams). We currently have 5 individuals on our squad who are Academic All-Americans and qualified for the NCAA tournament.

I have included some very interesting and important events in our program. Please read entire newsletter and mark your calendars. We have nine exciting home opportunities to watch wrestling!! Please do not hesitate to communicate with me via e-mail or phone.
