CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland State sophomore Joe Dennis has been indefinitely suspended from the Viking wrestling team because of a violation of departmental policy, CSU Director of Athletics Lee Reed announced on Thursday (Jan. 26).

The suspension takes effect immediately, beginning with this evening's Eastern Wrestling League opening match against Pittsburgh in Woodling Gym.

Dennis, a native of Urbana, Ohio, has a 5-5 record with two pins while wrestling at 197 this year. He earned EWL Freshman of the Year honors last year after going 29-13 at heavyweight, setting a freshman school-record for wins and qualifying for the NCAA Championships.
