COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cleveland State men's and women's swimming teams fell at the hands of Ohio State on Tuesday, with the women falling by a 147-81 score and the men losing, 137-96, in Columbus, Ohio. The losses drop the men's record to 5-2, while the women fall to 3-4 on the season.

For the women's team, Marianne Lionell and Tina Abbott grabbed the only individual wins on the day. Abbott finished first in the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 5:29.83, while Lionell won the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.55. Lionell added a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle, finishing in 53.01, while Samantha Jones finished second in the 100 butterfly in 59.32. The women's 200 freestyle relay also picked up a win in 1:45.49.

On the men's side, Warren Vickers, Luke Wilkens and Gabriel Linton picked up wins, with Vickers winning the 100 freestyle in 45.81. Wilkens won the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 4:37.79, while Linton won the 100 breaststroke in 58.57. Wilkens also finished second in the 200 freestyle in 1:43.15 and the 100 butterfly in 50.33, while his brother, Lyle, finished second in the 50 freestyle in 21.17. Pieter Pelser added a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 51.22.

The men's and women's teams will now have a week and a half to prepare for their fall invitational, the Akron Invitational, on Dec. 4-6.
