Postgame Quotes

Cleveland State head coach Mike Garland: "Most certainly this was a disappointing loss for us. I would be remiss and untruthful if I didn't say that but I'm proud of the way our young men did make an effort to come back and put us back in a position to win the basketball game."

"I'm not down on Steve Gansey at all, I really believe in the kid, he's just worked his guts out to work on his shooting and has been unbelievable throughout the whole fall in making shots."

"I have a good basketball team. Have we had more expereince playing together, that ball woud have gone down more than it did."

"Our kids did a really good job of defending them. I have a team that I have to be patient with. Our assistants have to be patient with them. But we have a team that can play basketball."

Cleveland State guard Victor Morris: On the inability to penetrate: "We weren't patient enough. Sometimes teams play zone to trick you into taking the three. But we just had to be more patient"

Cleveland State forward Frashon McGee: "We had open shots, but they didnt fall. Any other night, those shots woudl fall. It just didnt happen tonight."

Florida A&M head coach Mike Gillespie Sr.: "We kind of changed how we played, we've been primarily a man-to-man team throughout my entire coaching career. There were some circumstances with our team this season where we felt it would be best to switch to zone."

"I questioned myself when they made the last four shots, three of them being three's, but we felt on the road that zone would give us the best opportunity to win the game and needless to say it did and it negated some of their strength and quickness around the basket. We knew Moss was a very good shooter and obviously Steve Gansey didn't have one of his better games tonight but those are some of the chances you take when you play zone.

"We're very happy to come in here tonight and get the win and I think they are a very well-coached and very athletic team."

On center Rome Sanders: "He's been our leading scorer in everything we've done, whether it be exhibition or scrimmage. Tonight we didn't execute as well in getting him the ball."
