Feb. 26, 2004

Box Score

CHICAGO - Victor Morris scored 16 points and Jermaine Robinson added 14, but the Cleveland State men's basketball team fell to Loyola, 70-59, at the Gentile Center in Chicago on Thursday evening.

Cleveland State (4-23, 0-15 Horizon) held a two-point halftime advantage, 39-37, but struggled in the second half, missing all eight three-point attempts. Loyola (8-19, 4-12 Horizon) took the lead at 48-47 on a pair of free throws by Demetrius Williams with 14:16 left to play and would not relinquish the lead again.

Loyola's Paul McMillan led all scorers with 19 points.

The Vikings wrap up the regular season on Saturday with an 8 p.m. EST game at league-leading UW-Milwaukee.

Cleveland State will enter the Horizon League Tournament as the ninth seed and will play in the opening round on Tues., March 2, at the fourth seed. If Detroit wins at Youngstown State on Saturday, Detroit will be the fourth seed and will host the Vikings. Should Detroit lose at Youngstown State, Cleveland State would play at the loser of Saturday's contest between Wright State and UW-Green Bay.
