Simply put, Percell Coles is instant offense. He has the ability to come off the bench and open up games with his deadly long-range shooting, a weapon made even more effective through hard work in the weight room during the off-season. He is deadly from the foul line, making 90 percent of his career charity tosses. Coles is more than just a shooter. He has a good feel for the flow of the game and works hard defensively, giving Mike Garland a player he can count on around the perimeter.

2002-03 SEASON:
• Finished second on the team in scoring with an 11.6 average, including seven 20-point games.
• Led the squad in free throw percentage (.893) and three-point field goals made (61).
• Led the Horizon League with 2.44 three-point field goals made per game and ranked eighth with a .401 three-point percentage.
• Opened the season with two of the top three scoring efforts by a player coming off the bench, pouring in 31 points vs. IPFW on Nov. 18 at Colorado State and 29 at Duquesne on Nov. 27.
• Set a school record for three-pointers in a game, connecting on 9-of-12 treys in the win at Duquesne. He had earlier tied the mark by making 7-of-9 triples vs. IPFW.
• Missed five games because of injury. Sat out the IUPUI and Boston University contests with an ankle sprain and missed three games in late January with a sore foot.
• Handed out a career-high five assists at Kent State on Dec. 14.
• Made his first 17 free throw attempts of the year, finally missing the front half of a two shot foul vs. Illinois-Chicago on Feb. 20.
• Closed year by averaging 17.4 points over the last seven games, shooting 27-of-60 from three-point (.450) with four 20-point games.
• Begins junior campaign ranked 12th in CSU history with 88 career three-pointers made and 224 attempted.

CLEVELAND STATE CAREER:
• Came off the bench to play in 22 games as a freshman in 2001-02, averaging 5.9 points a game.
• Scored a season-high 22 points at Loyola on Jan. 3, 2002.
• Scored 16 points, on five-of-six shooting from three-point, to lead Vikings to win over Duquesne.
• Shot .917 from the line, making 12 of 13 attempts.

PRE-CLEVELAND STATE CAREER:
• First team all-region choice as a senior at Simon Gratz High, playing for coach Bill Ellerbee.
• Became only the third player in school history to average more than 20 points in a game, scoring at a 21.5 clip to lead team to a 25-5 mark.
• Named the team most valuable player and to the all-city squad by the Philadelphia Daily News.
• Earned four varsity letters each in basketball, cross country and track.
