Baseball Squad Inks Pair In Early Signing Period
Nov. 29, 2001 CLEVELAND - Cleveland State head baseball coach Jay Murphy has announced the signing of a pair of recruits during the early signing period. Justin Poletti and Jonathan Skelley have inked National Letters of Intent to attend CSU next year. Poletti will join the Vikings after spending two years at Potomac State College in Keyser, W. Va. A first baseman/outfielder, Poletti is a native of Hegins, Pa. - the same hometown as Bob Felty, who was a member of the CSU baseball squad from 1997-99. "Justin is a strong athlete who will add power to our lineup next year," noted Murphy. "He is currently playing for one of the top junior colleges in the country." A native of Medina, Ohio, Skelley is a senior this year at Buckeye High School. Skelley plays catcher and plans to major in accounting or business. "Jon is a very talented catcher and I look forward to working with him in the fall," said Murphy. The Vikings return 14 letterwinners from the 2001 squad that went 23-34 and advanced to the conference championship game. |
